Welcome to the Stakeholder Helpline

Pensions Helpline Adviser
Stakeholder pensions have been available from 6th April 2001 and are expected to play a prominent part in the savings arrangements people make for their retirement. It is recognised that in making their choices of retirement savings people may have the need for further information and clarification. The Stakeholder Helpline has been set up to satisfy this need.It will provide members of the public with impartial information and guidance on any aspect of stakeholder pensions.

This internet site concentrates mainly on advising you of your rights. One of the valuable rights you may have is that your employer must make a stakeholder scheme available to you.
We have designed a simple question and answer decision tree to help you to decide if this applies to you.

Click here if you want to try it now.

The Helpline is staffed and run by The Pensions Advisory Service.

The Pensions Advisory Service is an independent organisation that helps members of the public who have problems with company pension schemes or personal pension plans. It operates a national telephone helpline providing information and advice (not financial advice) on all aspects of occupational, personal pensions and stakeholder pensions.

The Stakeholder Helpline will not assist in marketing stakeholder pensions or give financial advice but will help people who are trying to make their mind up about joining a stakeholder pension scheme by taking them through the decision trees designed by the FSA.The helpline will be open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. but callers who ring out of hours will be able to record their details and they will be contacted during office hours.

The helpline is not intended for employers, for whom there is a dedicated helpline operated by the Inland Revenue
The number is 0845 7143 143
